Studying for the AP Literature and Composition exam? Check out these resources

We will meet after school on next Monday in C246 to review. If other times are good for you please let me know. Come with questions and items that you would like to review.

Here is a  link to a sample exam from AP Central. You MUST SCROLL through the Language and Comp exam. The Lit and Comp exam begins about 2/3 of the way through the pdf. Please remember that these are the only test items put out by AP. The Barron's review test question are often riddled with poor questions.

Here are the questions on the "open" portion of the exam. This is the sections where you write about a book that you have read. http://sb169.k12.sd.us/Prompt%20list%20for%20IR%20with%20AP.htm

While no one can guarentee the literary vocabulary that you will run across on the test, this quizlet list is a reasonable list to review: http://quizlet.com/23033303/ap-english-literature-and-composition-literary-terms-flash-cards/

Homework over break

Please read Beloved to page 33 (remember the pagination is different in each book). In my book the section ends with the line "how fine and loose and free." I hope you all have a fabulous break. I know that sleeping in and flip-flops seems to be on people's minds right now.

A black television director and his wife. A Mexican locksmith. Two car-jackers. A rookie cop. A middle-aged Korean couple… They all live in Los Angeles. And in the next 36 hours, they will all collide… A provocative, unflinching look at the complexities of racial conflict in America, CRASH is that rare cinematic event - a film that challenges audiences to question their own prejudices. Diving headlong into the diverse melting pot of post-9/11 Los Angeles, this compelling urban drama tracks the volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast, examining fear and bigotry from multiple perspectives as characters careen in and out of one another's lives. No one is safe in the battle zones of racial strife. And no one is immune to the simmering rage that sparks violence - and changes lives... Funny, powerful, and always unpredictable, CRASH boldly explores the gray area between black and white, victim and aggressor…and finds no easy solutions. The dynamic feature directing debut of Emmy Award-winning writer/producer Paul Haggis, CRASH stars Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, William Fichtner, Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Thandie Newton, Ryan Phillippe and Larenz Tate, from a story by Paul Haggis and a screenplay by Haggis and Bobby Moresco. CRASH is produced by Cathy Schulman, Don Cheadle, Bob Yari, Mark R. Harris, Bobby Moresco and Paul Haggis. [
